The St. Croix Onchor Center Pin Rod is distinctly optimized to give anglers the edge when it comes to salmon and steelhead supremacy. The St. Croix Onchor Cork Center Pin Rod elevates your float fishing through science. Proprietary St. Croix rod technologies, such as IPC, ART, and FRS, power the performance of the SCIII Carbon Fiber blanks in strength and durability.

The two moderate action St. Croix centerpin Onchor rods in the series – an 11 ft light power model supporting 1/4 - 3/4 oz. lures and a 13 ft. medium-light rod capable of handling lure weights from 3/8 - 1 oz. – features premium cork grips and stainless steel guide frames with aluminum oxide rings, and comfortable premium cork handles so you can fish all day. Backed by St. Croix's 5-year warranty, the St. Croix Onchor Center Pin Fishing Rod supplies you with the length, power, and action to handle any steelhead and salmon.

  • Premium centerpin fishing rods
  • IPC (Integrated Poly Curve) tooling technology eliminates all transitional points in the rod blank for smoother actions, increased strength, and greater sensitivity
  • ART (Advanced Reinforcing Technology) is an exotic carbon fiber material that adds a magnitude (10X) of strength with virtually no increase in blank diameter or weight
  • FRS (Fortified Resin System) is a curing system for rod blanks that keeps carbon fibers in proper alignment; blanks test out consistently to be 33% stronger than those without the advanced curing method
  • Blank material: SCIII Carbon Fiber is a high-modulus, high-strain graphite fiber, producing sensitive and lightweight rods with great durability
  • Guides: Aluminum oxide rings with stainless steel frames
  • Handle: Premium cork
  • Manufacturer's five-year warranty

Absolutely love this rod and has been my go to this ‘23 season. This handles a lot like the Avid 6-10 and is not the advertised “8-17”. It has a moderate action which has an incredible bend and really protects your leader. Excellent for the money.

Updated review from the previous one, I have had a chance to fish this stick more now, out of necessity because my normal rod is unavailable atm. I continued to fish big water steelhead, and was able to land one in swift current that was around a 10lb caliber size fish. However, I have stuck at least 10 other steelhead with this rod and the hook just never penetrated well, still not enough backbone. I switched to my 11'6" baitcaster rod and landed all my fish. So, the Onchor IS a decent rod, don't get me wrong, but not for fast deep water applications. My only complaint is the 8-17lb rating being misleading. I would recommend for skinny and/or frogwater applications.

I like to fish big water steelhead and the 8-17lb is no where close to the beefiness it should have. The old Avid 6-10lb rod had more backbone than this limp noodle. Will be returning unless I can find a small ditch application for it. Otherwise its nice for slow water. Big failure in my opinion.
