RIO Mainstream Series Trout Fly Line gives trout anglers an easy-casting floating fly line that helps load the rod quickly and build confidence on the water. Tuned for new to intermediate fly anglers, this trout fly line uses a shorter head and reduced running line length so the rod responds with less line out, making it easier to feel the cast load during dry fly, nymph, and small streamer presentations. Each line matches its intended fly rod size for balanced performance, and the floating profile fits a wide range of freshwater trout situations from drifting dries to rising fish, mending indicator rigs through runs, and covering pocket water for rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, and cutthroat. A coldwater coating, supple memory-free core, and 80 ft. total length help keep the line manageable in cooler conditions, while the Lemon Green color stays easy to track during pickups, line control, and on-stream adjustments.

    I used the line on the fast moving sections of the Savage River and loved it. It floated high and had great visibility in the fast water where drag is a challenge. It did require a little cleaning after several hours of fishing to keep it on top which was expected with time on the water.

    The RIO fly line is far superior than the fly lines that you buy at those discount outlets. It's by far the best fly line that I've ever owned.
