Puerto Rico-born angler Guillermo Gonzalez got his first taste of fishing at a young age at a friend's birthday party. When the other kids grew bored of trying to catch a fish and headed back to the pool, Guillermo couldn't stand to leave them swimming. He was the only one to land a fish that day.

Growing up in South Florida was the perfect setting to fuel his love fishing. Florida is where he first began fishing out of a kayak, not realizing how big a part of his life it would later become.

Later, after moving to Texas, Guillermo fell in love with bass fishing—particularly competitive bass fishing. He spent most of his free time honing his skills on legendary Lake Fork. As a junior in college, he entered his first kayak tournament and went on to win it, a moment that sparked something bigger as kayak tournament fishing became an increasingly central part of his life.

Guillermo has gone on to win numerous Angler of the Year championships across several Texas tournament trails and the 2021 KBF National Championship, in addition to continuing to compete at the highest level kayak fishing has to offer.

Now calling Fort Worth, Texas home, he travels across the country pursuing tournaments and recreational fishing opportunities alike. When not tournament fishing, you can almost always find a fly rod in his hand.
