Product Details

UTC Ultra Thread 70 Denier is a strong, flat, smooth, lightly waxed, slow building nylon thread. UTC 70 is great thread for trout nymphs and dry flies in the 10 to 28 size. The breaking strength of this thread is about one pound. This thread helps to prevent bulky thread build when dividing wings and tapering heads.

  • Length: 100 yd. spool

Please note: Dye color may vary depending on the batch.

Great; tied some ants tonight with it

I tie small Flies, and naturals with this product, and teach fly tying classes. My students use a number of different threads, but they always ask about where they can get the UTC Ultra 70.

Ultra Thread Review

by flys by day -

I am new to fly tying, but I really like using the Ultra thread for tying my flys. It goes on smooth and makes tying a snap.

I like the thread because it lays flat and I can easily split it to apply dubbing.
