This is a good float for river fishing and the size range is good also. The only improvements I would make is to add the slip tube for the top of the float and tighten up the radius on the lead ring so it doesn't slip off as easy.

I really like how durable they are and the rubber tube is so much better than the spring. It doesn't wear your line, is easier to adjust the depth, and installs and removes quickly. Very good idea and the best float I have ever used.

Ahhhh..... the ever evolving splendor of steelheading!!! Ask anyone who braves the worst weather, and will go through thousands of different theories, equipment, and techniques in the hunt for steelhead and they will be likely to admit that finding the right gear that you can have solid confidence in, just may be as difficult to hook up on the water. I fished Raven floats of all different sizes, and weights for almost 10 years with my centerpin setup. I got used to them, and also got used to having to pay triple the price in New York ( where I fish ), or having to order them online, as they are not locally available. Recently I decided to change things up a bit with rigging the setup, and the float was one of the 1st things on my list. I tried the Thill 1 1/8' steelhead float. Wow, what a difference! So easy to use, its priced better, but most of all it is the smoothest float I have seen yet. No more liter getting caught on the tip of the float with round tip. Great product!
