Took the rods up ice fishing and nailed many walleye and sauger. Equipment worked fantastic and out fished the other shacks 10 to 1 according to the warden. We only kept 6 injured or poorly hooked fish. Returned 45 fish to the water and ate our limit every day. My wifes first time ice fishing and she loved the rods and line we got from you. Thanks. We were at Lake Of The Woods, Baudette, MN. Mike

Love St.Croix rods unfortunately for this rod it broke on the very first fish I set the hook on. However their warranty is supposed to cover it so I’m not too worried, rods break it happens. The reel with this combo is absolutely trash St.Croix is better than this they need to fix it and fix it fast. I don’t know why they don’t partner with a better reel company and put those on their rod/reel combos. Fenwick has it figured out with pairing their combos with Flueger reels. I’d like to see St. Croix do something like that.

Not impressed at all. Apparently both rod and reel are made in China. I'm surprised that one of my favorite rod companies (st. croix) decide to go offshore. It was a bad choice and ruined my idea of them. I was hurt when they decided to set up a factory in Mexico....now China??? I sent the combo back and FishUSA has been kind. The reason I sent it back was the guides were very obviously out of line. I build rods and it is not hard to get guides on in straight line. And, the price was still as if it were American made.
