The Shimano SLX Low-Profile Casting Reel is built to work, for a price that won’t break you. This reel has a small profile and light feel to it but doesn’t compromise on line capacity. Built with durable brass gears and a HAGANE body, this reel is rigid and sturdy. The strong design to the body of the reel helps to reduce weight, but also eliminates reel flex, keeping your valuable product performing its best time and time again.
Instead of magnets to control the cast, the Shimano SLX Low-Profile Casting Reel employs a Variable Braking System, or VBS, that will help get rid of backlash and extend your casting distance to reel in those big fish hiding out in deeper waters. Can't Beat It!

The amount of control you get over your cast with this reel is awesome. I can get good distance into the wind no problem, and I can also cast light crankbaits with ease.
Awesome Reel

Great reel for the money. I have this paired with a St. Croix Bass X rod and it makes a great combo. The reel is great and you can cast it a long way with precision accuracy.
