excellent reel

i have used my 209lc for about 10 years now, i troll for lakers and landlocks at quabbin in massachusetts. it' s had 10, 12, and 15 lb line on it, currently it's got 200 yards of 15 lb trilene big game and a 1/2 core of 18 lb stealthcore. (i use 10 lb leaders). it's never failed me, rolls line out smoothly and easily, and a low retrieve ratio means easier cranking with a good fish on leadcore. very versatile, very capable. tight lines!

Penn 209 LC reel

Don't expect this to be a casting reel because for the most part it isn't. I've used mine in the Dan River here in Virginia for catfish and it performed exactly as expected. This reel is castable, but as I stated, it's not a long distance casting reel. I should have no problem reeling in 50 plus pound blue cats with it. After all, it's a PENN.

Penn is very good

This reel is very good for trolling for big fish
