This is by far the best catfish rod on the market and I have tried them all. It does everything well from dragging baits to chucking heavyweights in current. I have 8 of these, and never had an issue whether it is tournament fishing for channels or chasing trophy blues and flatheads. The backbone higher up on the shaft is a killer feature. It allows for a faster hookset compared to the cheap parabolic rods on the market. Plus it allows the angler to fight a fish around objects on the transom (motors, transducers, rod racks, etc.)
