The Okuma Avenger New Generation Spinning Reel utilizes Okuma's superior proprietary technologies with one new key feature: Cyclonic Flow Rotor (CFR) technology. CFR significantly increases airflow throughout the rotor, drying the reel faster and minimizing corrosion. This lightweight spinning reel for bass and trout also features a corrosion-resistant graphite body and rotor with a multi-disc felt drag system for smooth line movement. For ultimate smoothness and performance, the spinning reel features seven ball bearings. Its Precision Elliptical Gearing System regulates the spindle stroke speed for a more level line lay. This feature creates less friction, allowing you to cast further and more accurately.     Out of the box, the reel was defective. Reel seized up when I tried to turn the handle. FishUSA customer service sent me a prepaid return label and I am now awaiting a replacement. I have owned over a dozen Okuma reels and this is the first that I have received which had a problem. I give the reel 1 star and the customer service 5 stars for an average of 3 stars.

    I bought this reel in the 2500 size to do some inshore saltwater fishing on a weekend trip down in Clearwater, FL. Despite not being rated for saltwater, this reel does just fine. The drag is nice and smooth, the bail has a very positive click when opened, and overall its extremely solid! Paired it to a Fenwick 6'6" Md Lt travel rod and have it spooled with Suffix 832 Superline (10lb). The combo handles Seatrout and small inshore species of various kinds with ease! Thanks, FishUSA!
