The Lew's HyperMag Speed Spin Spinning Reel is for anglers who take on the challenges that go with highly competitive fishing. The HyperMag spinning reel's lightweight magnesium body and high-strength magnesium skeletal rotor are a portion of the spinning reel's extraordinary battle-tested engineering. Lew's own forged main gear, a premium stainless steel bearing system, and a Winn slim design handle knob make the reel even more desirable. Hands down, you will own one of the lightest weight, high-performance spinning reels in its class.

Not to be overlooked at all, the HyperMag Speed Spin drag system stands apart from others. Sealed carbon multi-discs in the drag consistently deliver strong and smooth fighting forces to wear down angry fish. Both the HMS200 and the slightly larger HMS300 spinning reel display the mastermind behind their engineering with the finest components at the lightest weight. Treat yourself today. Once you start fishing with it, you'll quickly understand why Lew's HyperMag Speed Spin Spinning Reel is one of the best for dependability, strength, and performance.

Very lightweight but stiff and sturdy reel body. Grip on handle is not soft neoprene, but a firm rubber material that I hope lasts a while in the sun. Drag has been smooth so far, only caught about 12 fish and of those only 3 were big enough to pull line out. I have a bunch of old Shimanos and I might trade up to these when more sizes become available.
