Best Release on the market today!
I've been using the release for 3 years. At first I was suspicious... as the design is so markedly different, but I bought one. As a career mechanical engineer with a fishing addiction, It is PERFECTLY DESIGNED. You adjust first how much constant line pressure you want to sustain before release based on the trolling speed, type of fishing pole, etc., then (2) make minute adjustments to the amount of fish nibble pressure before it releases. Great release that has assisted in catching 100's of town and rainbow trout!
Much better that pinch style releases

I switched from a pinch release to these and have used them for two seasons now fishing multiple different fish species. We fish for trophy Kamaloop rainbows and often run gear at 100+ feet down. The adjustability of the release is excellent where you can set the release tension separately from the rod tension. This allows you to fine tune the release tension and still have a strong rod tension setting to prevent false releases from the rod tension. We have also used them for fishing for lake trout and Kokanee where you might want a very light release. They are much better than a pinch release and are way more consistent.
The Best Hands Down

These release's work fantastic. I love the 2 adjustments for how much tension release you need, especially for those light biters and no more pre releases. I believe it's fair to say you won't be disappointed with them.
I've used every downrigger release made. These and Black's are hard to beat. The advantage to this release is it has two tension settings for fine tuning if you're using these for walleye or any light biting fish.
Much better than conventional releases.

My brother convinced me to try these out. I had just recently bought my friends old manual cannons, because he upgraded to electric cannons. My wife and I went kokanee fishing and used the downriggers and releases for the first time. There are instructions on the back of the package for the releases. Very simple, I used the "100 ft" rule. I wanted to fish 25ft down, so Iet out 75 feet of line to start and then connected to the downriggers and lowered it 25 feet. We used sling blades and brad's kokanee cut plugs with stinky white corn. The releases popped every time just like they are supposed to. We had a good day on the water.
