Product Details

P-Line Hydrofloat Thermal Fused Spectra Line gives salmon and steelhead anglers an edge when float or centerpin fishing by keeping drifts drag-free and visible on the water’s surface. Its thermal fused coating increases buoyancy compared to traditional Spectra lines, while added body helps reduce frustrating rod tip wrap. With a high strength-to-diameter ratio and virtually no stretch, Hydrofloat delivers instant hook-setting power and long, controlled drifts whether on spinning, baitcasting, or centerpin reels.

  • Thermal fused coating adds buoyancy for drag-free drifts
  • Increased body reduces rod tip wrap common with limp lines
  • High strength-to-diameter ratio with low stretch for solid hook sets
  • Quantity per pack: 1

Bought 20lb P-LINE HYDROFLOAT for my Shimano Cardiff float setup. Went out for the first time last weekend and gave it a shot. 1st 10-12 casts were pretty bad birds nests (had Power Pro previous without issues) and had to cut 20-25yds off. I clicked another brake on my spool and continued to try it. As the day went on it did get better without birds nests. The line DOES float very nice and peels off the water great when mending. Also super visible, more so than the hi vis Power pro and doesn't seem to absorb water like PP either. Not 100% sold but I'll use it for the season and see what happens.

This is an amazing line for fixed float steelhead fishing but its horrible if you use a slip bobber. The continuous sliding of the bobber stop will strip the coating. Super disappointing when this happens the first day of using it. For fixed float applications this is the best line you will find.

    Best Floating

Posted by Shooterman on November 21, 2020

Best floating line of the 6 brands I tried. Virtually no stretch and it stayed on the surface the entire day. The hi-Vis Yellow was always visible, even the rapid moving water. Will buy again.
