Product Details

The Minn Kota Ulterra Combo packages offer built-in fish finder imaging and a choice between two 60-inch shaft trolling motors: Ulterra 24V and the Ulterra QUEST Series of dual 24/36 volt brushless trolling motors. The QUEST Series brushless motors have been completely re-imagined from the ground up with updates to mounts, propellers, lift assist systems, drive motors, and software designed to control your trolling motor in unforgiving environments. The Minn Kota trolling motors have been completely re-imagined to handle even tougher abuse. The Ulterra model includes Dual Spectrum CHIRP sonar, while the Ulterra QUEST combo option supplies MEGA Down/Side Imaging.

Ulterra's revolutionary hands-free features on both models include Auto Stow/Deploy and Power Trim, which gives you free rein to fish. The Ulterra boat control system provides Spot-Lock, GPS anchor, and navigation to get you to and on a productive fishing spot. Ulterra's Auto Stow/Deploy feature gives you instant control to follow your instincts and keeps you free to fish on any front. Common elements of both the Ulterra and Ulterra QUEST models include:

  • Auto Stow & Deploy: Stow, deploy, or trim the motor up and down by pushing a button on your wireless remote, foot pedal, the One-Boat Network App, or Humminbird fish finder
  • Power Trim: Trim Ulterra up or down at the push of a button – on either the foot pedal, the wireless remote, the One-Boat Network App, or a Humminbird fish finder
  • Advanced GPS Trolling System: Set Spot-Locks, record paths, control speed and steering, and more. Minn Kota makes boat positioning and controls automatic, and you can take command from the easy-to-read LCD screen of Ulterra's wireless remote.
  • Spot-Lock with Jog: Spot-Lock will hold you in place with unparalleled GPS accuracy

Misleading product description(s)! NO SALTWATER (non-riptide)! April 2026 update: This motor has been to the shop for $1000 worth of work THREE TIMES in 16 months. NOT saltwater related work. It's destroyed more fishing and water outings than it has helped. You have TWO choices with this motor: be ready to bleed money, OR be ready to become an uncertified Minn Kota tech while you try to troubleshoot each next problem. For me, fishing is problematic enough. After 16 months, I put this up for sale for 20% of what it cost me, and I'm done with the brand. I purchased in March 2025 and had the Ulterra professionally installed in April 2025. The motor required $500+ in service in January 2026, seven months later. I took the motor to a certified Minn Kota Service Center. Before initiating work, they informed me that the motor’s warranty was INVALID due to the repair facility’s presumption that I had used the motor in saltwater. Prior to purchasing this motor, I did about TWO WEEKS of research to insure that the motor was suitable for all types of water and fishing that I intended to do. The videos on Minn Kota showed the motor being used in salt water. There was never any mention–neither on the vendor website product description, nor on the Minn Kota website–that this trolling motor was ONLY SUITABLE FOR FRESHWATER. Minn Kota sells a trolling motor with increased corrosion protection that is (and was, at the time of purchase) approximately the same price. So if there had been ANY indication that saltwater would have voided the warranty on the Ulterra, I would have simply purchased the other model. No such indication existed. I visited the Minn Kota website circa January 14, 2026. The warranty information confirmed that saltwater use invalidates the warranty. I do not believe that this is the same warranty language that existed on the Minn Kota website at the time of purchase (March 21, 2025). Also, none of the written materials received with the trolling motor indicate that it is for freshwater use ONLY, or that saltwater use invalidates the warranty. On January 14 and 16, 2026, I contacted vendor to file an refund claim. Vendor customer service CONFIRMED THAT THEY CHANGED THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION since the time I purchased the Ulterra trolling motor. Vendor changed the description to include the word “Freshwater,” but the vendor still leaves it ambiguous as to whether the motor is freshwater ONLY, and does not make ANY STATEMENT that a SINGLE, SALTWATER USE will invalidate the Minn Kota warranty. All of this said, I am believe deceptive marketing of this product that has resulted in current losses to me for non-warrantied repair, and prospective future losses due to ongoing repairs of a product that should have been under warranty if not for the deceptive and incomplete/inaccurate product description and misleading product videos on the Minn Kota site. If you have this motor shipped to coastal Florida, Minn Kota and its certified repair facilities will probably assume it has been used in saltwater, without even asking, and void your warranty. I have emailed Minn Kota and will update review pending resolution of repair issues.
