Wapsi Fly Tying Head Cement is a staple on every fly tyer's bench. Use a drop to seal the head on a standard dry fly or nymph pattern or build up glossy heads on classic salmon flies and streamers.
Water Based Head Cement is a good alternative to solvent based cements. This product is very thin in viscosity, allowing it to penetrate thread and materials for a good bond. It comes ready to use, can be thinned with water, and is non-flammable. Water Based Head Cement dries fully overnight and will not dissolve in water after it has cured. This cement does not produce a "shiny" head on flies unless several thin coats are applied.
Solvent Based Head Cements are great for building-up layers. These products are thin in viscosity and penetrate deeply into the thread and other tying materials. These come ready to use, but can also be thinned with fly head cement thinner. Solvent Based Head Cements dry quickly and will not produce a "shiny" head on flies unless several thin coats are applied. The Solvent Based Head Cements come in clear and black.
The Solvent Based Gloss Coat is a great final coating for built up fly heads. It has a medium viscosity and dries quickly. It comes ready to use and can be thinned with fly head cement thinner. Solvent Based Gloss Coat will create a durable shiny finish. This product is also good for a cover coat on fluorescent lacquers.
The Head Cement Thinner is a great for adding to solvent based cements to achieve the desired viscosity. Head Cement Thinner is also great for adding to head cement that has begun to evaporate from the container after sitting unused for a period of time.
