A classic and still great. People grouse about them not being wood, but they're still great, perhaps even better, because they have a slow rise on the stop, and are very tough. Their erratic, scattering action triggers strikes, fast or slow. I bought some of these the first year I had a boat as cheap lures to feed to pike, and they ended up not only catching the most good-sized pike, but the biggest musky of my rookie year, a fat 46 incher. Also have caught big bass and walleyes on it.

These lures are not the pikie's of old. Why do you ruin a winner with a plastic copy. Please return to the originals!!!!!!!!!!

When Creek Chub manufactured Pikies, they were a great lure. They were almost bulletproof, they fished right, and they WORKED! I caught my personal best musky in 1968 (49+ inches and 32 lbs) on the 'Giant Pikie', which was about 11" long and weighed a LOT! The originals were made of wood, and had very tough hardware. These lures are plastic imitations, with lightweight hardware. They only work if you fish them very slow, otherwise they quit wiggling and spin. The hooks are soft, the internal wires are small and prone to getting out of shape very easily. These are cheap imitations of a great lure!
