    A great idea poorly executed

I was really excited when I found these - thought they would be perfect for my crank baits. Like other reviewers I found them very difficult to open. I finally resorted to using a small needle nose pliers to open up which lead to a misshapen snap plus now I could not get the snap to close properly. Very disappointing. Will not be using them.

Great Idea but the material has wrong temper!!

This device does in fact allow more action to the lure, exception being a Rapala knot! The snap is "HARD" to open, so hard in fact I have abandoned using them and returned to using other snaps of this design that although are smaller in diameter are easier to open!! Please fix this problem, a great idea curbed by wrong steel tempering!!

I bought a few packs of these to try out while trolling for walleye on Lake Erie. With the larger hoop they are supposed to let your crankbait move more freely and give it more wobble. I believe that part is true. Only downside is that they are very hard to open. If you are only using one lure all day then no big deal, but if you are changing lures to find a color or something like that, then it becomes a pain to use. I can only imagine how hard they will be to open when its colder out and your fingers aren't working at 100%. I am going to stick with the normal Size 2 crosslock snap.

These are strong and give your lure extra freedom to wiggle

I've been using these on spoons and blade baits and I am convinced they do work and give lure more freedom to move about. They are very strong, definitely much stronger than the duo lock snaps that come with many lures, and much less likely to open accidentally. They are much harder than duo locks to open and close and slightly harder to open and close than cross lock snaps. They make a good semi-permanent replacement for the duo-locks on e.g., quickfish/flatfish. There is a tradeoff here: strength versus easy on-off - I prefer the former and will keep using these.
