Storm Original ThinFin

22 Reviews
Item No.: F11301

Storm Original ThinFins have an erratic darting action produced by long sides and deep body. These lures are shallow running crankbaits great for a variety of game fish. The body shape and action imitates many forage fish such as shad, shiners and herring. The pronounced scale patterns give the lure added flash attracting more gamefish. Great for use on bass, walleye and other gamefish.

Great spring walleye bait

by JJ -

While these are not commonly used as walleye baits, we gave them a shot during the spring opener on Green Bay and they were hottest bait. They are perfect for running in shallower waters and provide a unique action. They are great choice when forage is smaller.

Why No Rattles ??

by BillP -

Promoted by the Mfr as return of the "original" which had rattles but these do not . Fall steelhead prefer rattles. And the Deep Rattlin' model goes to deep for rivers.

I look forward to using this lure, as I had great success last season on the hot tiger color. Great action, and bass hit it hard.

These are just like the originals with new colors...

by Paul of Harrisburg -

Contrary to one reviewer who said the originals had rattles, they did not have rattles. These lures are the same as the original ones, but have sexier color patterns. I have caught bass consistantly with these thinfins for years, and am glad to have them back again!!

Shallow water go-to

by Steve -

Was reminded last summer during extreme shallow-water walleye bite what a great performer the ol' Thin Fin was. So, when time came to restock and add a new color or two, FishUSA was my choice. Choice of sizes and colors is very good--as is price! Have used Thin Fins for probably 40 years when situation called for them. Just remember to sharpen the hooks before using.

Great Lure

by DonM -

I've been using this lure since the 1970s to fish for black bass. It's the best single lure for bass, I have in my tackle box.

Hit a bass and walleye within a few minutes of trolling this bait. Looks a little goofy but definitely works.

walleye magnet

by Walleye slayer -

the guide and several outdoor writers recommended this lure. I purchased the blue and the orange ones that go to 10ft. Worked great. Will try other colors. I wish that Storm would develope one that runs 20 or 30 ft when the walleyes are deep.

Awesome Lure, just can not get them local where I live.

by Ivan

I have been using these for fifty years, caught Walleye, Trout, Northern Pike, Corvina, Sand Bass, makeral. I probably could go on. The new ones seem to be as well made and fish as easily as the old ones. Love them.

Uh, Storm Warning

by Dane County

I like the bait ... I caught a northern on it within the first 30 min. of use. Unfortunately, both trebles ended up bent from the first catch. I got most back into shape, but one still has an odd, drop to it. These things happen I know, but, first catch? A 20-22" northern? I like Storm Searchbaits, however, I'm having second thoughts about their hard baits.

the must lure to have.

by andy

I have been walleye fishing for 15 years + and was using a strait bait f-7 and getting good bites. I had an old perch thinfin at least 40 years old and put it on and starting catching more fish right away. I now have an entire box of various colors of thinfin and never go home without fish. In canada most of the ouitfitters we go to sell the thinfin as a hot lure to fish with.
