The rod is great, just what I expected. Fish USA went above and beyond to be sure I was getting the exact rod I wanted. Their customer service man I dealt with could not have been more helpful, and went to exrtra mile to help me. Aone product, aone company. Bob Davis

Great rod that I can't wait to use. I have a Pflueger Supreme on it and they make a very light and sensitive combination.

This rod will cast 1/32nd oz. mini jigs a for distance yet has the power to hand large trout on big rivers.
My favorite rod
by big jerk
I have the 7' ULF paired with a Shimano Stradic CI4. Accurately throwing mini-jigs and light lures is effortless. With the super fast tip I can detect the most timid takes. Made in the USA!

Top Quality Rod and Top Quality Service. Thanks!
My 4th St. Croix. These run a bit stiff, so if you want a medium rod you might consider buying a medium light instead.
St Croix Premier spinning rods are good to go

I have 4 St Croix Premier spinning rods and they are all great. They have never let me down. I only buy the 2 piece rods for ease of transport.
This rod is a classic!
by Big Boy -
These are rods that I can pass down to my kids and grandkids after 30+ years of use and they'd still be better than most rods on the market that cost $100 more. I started out with the 6'6" Premier series spinning almost 30 years ago. It was the best all around rod that I could afford as a kid. Since then Ive added more of each model in the series over time and now own close to 30 Premier rods. Although I can now afford to buy rods costing twice as much, I really don't get much more in quality or feel, even from other more expensive St.Croix rods. I also like the fact that I can still buy a spinning or casting rod with a full length cork candle in the Premier series. And anytime Ive needed to have a rod repaired, St. Croix is always great about repairing or replacing their rods.
Bought the 6'6 ML 2-piece model before my trip South last Summer and was very impressed. Handled big bass up to 5 pounds with ease, and was very sensitive for finesse fishing. Also brought it to the pier all week and worked great handling nice sized bluefish & even spadefish off the pylons.

Nice for throwing tiney artificial baits, 00 Mepps, tiny crank baits etc. Sensitive tip is good for Jigging for Crappies.
St. Croix 4 Piece Travel Rod

Used on Missouri River in Montana for perch and good sized trout (2 to 4 lbs.). Great rod and great feel. Packed in carry on suitcase for flight.
Fantastic rod for ultra finesse fishing
by Reel Thing -
We use this rod for everything, with 6# test and light #4 aberdeen hooks we catch largemouth and small mouth bass, northern pike, pan fish, and catfish. On this ultra light rod every fish is a fish of a lifetime.

Best Rods I've ever owned
by ShoreHooks -
I have several St Croix rods the 2 I just purchased were 4'6" Premiers for fresh water trout fishing. I have found no other rod in this price range and higher that compares to the quality of these rods.
finally, a travel rod with good feel
by Dan from Colorado -
I've been looking for some time now for a travel spinning rod with good feel that was a decent length when assembled (6' or longer), but broke down into a small package (less than 20") for transport on my motorcycle. It also had to be sensitive enough to use 4 lb test line effectively. I thought I was going to have to purchase a custom rod until I found this St. Croix Premier Traveler. This is a terrific rod at a price much less than custom. In addition, St. Croix includes a rigid rod case (cordura covered) for transporting the rod securely. For info purposes I've matched this rod with a Quantum Catalyst CT10 PTi-A reel, and the combination balances very well.
Good action rod!
by Bluegill Man -
Over all good action rod. Lightweight and flexible. Was shredding line because of broken plastic insert on rod tip.

The more I use the rod, the more I like it. Perfect.
Wonderful light ro, great for trout.
by Ron the stream fishe -
this is a great rod for very light lures in stream fishing in Maine. You can cast further and it is very sensitive to fish strikes. It is as sensitive as a fly rod. Great rod.
This is my 3rd purchase of a St. Croix.

I have 2 UL and 1 Lt action St.Croix's. For the money I feel they are the best rods you can get in that price range.
Good for all occasions
by R. Kupe
Have been using these for over six years. My kids and girlfriend all use these and they stand up to all the abuse. Have broken three rolling up in power windows but and the warranty dept. at St. Croix took care of me.

I bought the 2 piece, 7' spinning rod....super sensitive, great action and you can cast this thing for a mile. I would HIGHLY recommend it. This was my first St. Croix and if the spinning rod was this good....I can't wait to get my hands on one of their fly rods.
