Great lure for early season jigging. The 1/2 oz is about perfect size to weight combo. It seems that these baits snag up less often the Vibe's and other blade baits. A great Product!!
Go to lure on walleyes through the ice
by The Dad -
Tip the front double hook with the pinched off head of a fathead or shiner hooked through the middle of the skull. Work this lure hard - you should rip off that minnow head from time to time. This will be really hard for experienced walleye chasers to do. Once fish appears on the flasher raise it about a foot above the mark and hold. If the fish does not follow and hit - move it up another foot and jig hard a couple of times before rest. Repeat until strike or fish sinks to bottom. Not to worry if they sink - just go down - attract them again and "bring them up the ladder". You are in essence forcing them to strike. Seems counter-intuitive on neutral to negative fish but it works. Use a good rod loaded with Power Pro and a 4 foot flouro carbon leader tied to a small Sampo swivel. I am catching at least 60% of my walleyes over 4 feet from the bottom. You will need to sharpen the hooks right out of the package.
Not that great

The rear hook needs to be smashed together with pliers. The gap allows the hook to swivel to the top of the lure where it gets stuck and will grab your line. The two fish I hooked with these we're able to get off before landing them. I'm catch and release and they weren't big fish so it's not a big deal, but if it was a good fish to get a picture of that would have really sucked. I had a good strike and good hook set so I'm thinking it's another flaw in hook design. I ordered several of these and some wouldn't run true.

I've been using the Cicadas for several years and have caught all species of fish large and small in stained to clear water. Color does seem to matter so I have all of them
The best blade bait you will ever use!!
You won't find a better blsde bait available. I use these for jigging the deep (25-40) breaks anytime of the year. If you like to feel your lure working you won't find a better lure to use.Casting off the breaks and working it back like a jig will put a lot of walleye and smallmouth in your live well. I've got every color in every size in my store and in my box. Fishing a 150 plus days a year you need a go to bait and you won't find a better on to use then the Cicada. "Scott you made a great lure and it's been a pleasure doing business with Reef Runner.

I took my 6 year old son ice fishing for his first time (the last time I ice fished was 30 years ago). I put the cicada lure on a snap swivel on an ice fishing pole and told him to "move the line up and down". In 20 minutes he had hooked his first largemouth of his life (about 12" long). I caught nothing.

Great Lure, but change them hooks
by Eddy B
This is a great, I said great lure....HOWEVER, the hooks are lousy, change them first, and you will be amazed on what hits it.....I fish Lake Erie and everything hits it, from Walleye to Perch, and you will get action from Sheepshed if you like the that kind of action???......tremendous bait, but change them hooks, and do not direct tie either
Good for trout

RR Cicada : Great Lure
Fished lure on two outings and friend and I have caught the following using simple cast and retrieve and trolling: Largemouth Bass, Drum, Walleye, Crappie, White Bass, Stripers, Carp, Blue and Channel Cats Consistently outperforming other lures and spoons I have used successfully for years.
Cicadas are great

I haven't found a lure for fresh water fishing that has the potential to catch such a great variety of fish. The various sizes can be tailored for the types of fish you expect to encounter on your adventure.
I just tried a Cicada. I was fishing for bass. My first two casts brought me two fish. The lure has great action, you can use it in multiple ways (steady retrieve or jig), and fish love it.
older one good! new show rust on blade
by Retired and fishing -
A great lure for certain conditions however I'm disappointed with quality of my new ones, there are signs of rust where the hooks go through the blade and this never happened with older product.
Cicadas drive the fish crazy.
by Miguel -
Cicadas are great for a variety of game fish.
Highly effective trout lure
This lure seems to attract more fish than any other lure I have used. The upper hook sometimes get tangled with the line, killing the crazy action, so best use a sideways trow. You instantly feel by the action when this happens. It also rust easily in salt water, but the productivity makes this lure a top rated lure
Reef Runner's Cicadas - A Go To Lure
by JR -
I've just started using Cicada's this year and they have become part of my set of go-to lures. Their fluttering action and the vibration they produce seems to call fish to them. They can be worked in a variety of the ways and in a number of different environments, so they are one of the most versatile lures in my tackle box. When fishing in weedy ponds or lakes, their two hook set up prevents them from getting hung up as much as treble hooks. It is a great lure!
