I went fishing on a hot day (80 degrees) at the river and I clamped on the Rapala Super Shad in the Original Pearl Shad color and I was reeling the lure at a medium retrieve speed on the surface of the water far out. I started speeding up my retrieve speed as the lure was mid distance and then… -SMASH! A 25inch plus size Northern Pike smashed it started peeling drag! He was a fighter but no match… I was using my New 12 foot Heavy Ugly Stik Big Water rod LOL! (The tip was very sensitive though I could feel every detail when he hit) and I had my PENN BATTLE III 8000 HS (High Speed) spinning reel spooled up with 375 yards of 80lb Sufix 832 Advanced Superline with a Tyrant 18 inch 130lb Fluorocarbon Leader on. The Pike stood No Chance, but it was Fun! The rod is very sensitive at the tip for its size and power. But yeah Original Pearl Shad got em… and my gear.

On November 3rd, 2021 I went out fishing late night and caught ANOTHER big Largemouth Bass! I caught her at 9:46pm! She was 20 1/2inches long and about 7-8lbs. I was using the Bluegill colored Rapala Super Shad and just working the lure slowly on the surface of the water when she sunk it! She was taking drag (a little too much) so I tightened my drag and locked her down and horsed her in. I didnt want to loose this one! LOL! The Rapala Super Shad catches trophies. Just like it says on the back of the box.

Last October (October 22nd, 2020) I caught my PB Top 3 largest Largemouth Bass on the Perch Rapala Super Shad. I was casting along the Lily Pads about 10-16 feet out from shore doing a hard jerk and pause retrieve when I hooked on a nice 30 inch plus Northern Pike. -BUT! IT WASNT A PIKE! IT WAS A HUGE LARGEMOUTH BASS! 22 inches in length and I didnt have a scale (Dang). If I had to make a good guess he felt between 8-10lbs. That Bass was HUGE! It took up the length of my stove. It wasnt the best fight because I horsed him in, but it wasnt the worst fight either. It was just easy horsing him in with my larger setup. I wasnt expecting to get that Bass I was just casting hoping for something big; either a Northern Pike, Musky, or Bass. Bass it was. It was fun.

I forgot to write a review! But last year (October 22nd, 2020) I caught a HUGE Largemouth Bass on the Perch Rapala Super Shad! That Bass was 22inches long; almost the FULL length of my stove! I didnt have a scale to weigh it though (I know that sucks) I caught about 21 feet from shore casting along the Lilly Pads on a hard jerk and pause retrieve. These things catch trophies man! Fish USA let us upload photos. I would love to show you all.
