Great for trolling

These are great for trolling for walleye and stripers. I have been using these lures for years and have caught hundreds of stripers and walleye trolling with these at 2.5 to 3 miles per hour. Also must thank fishusa for great fast shipping.
Great all around lure

This lure is great for trolling at 1.5 to 3 mph. Catches a variety of fish and numbers of fish. I have caught walleye, bass, crappie, and stripers trolling these lures.

always have a regal shad tied on to one pole. I wish this color was available in other rapala models
Another crucial element in your Rapala arsenal

Very nice lure - has the subtle fish attracting wobble lacking in some other deep-diving crank baits and works magic on a stop and go erratic retrieve. it is not a particularly dense bait so light line is required for long casts. The three largest sizes are preferred by me - not sure about the ultra-light models. My favourite colours are the gold and silver foil options and also the natural perch. I am sceptical about the shad colour finishes (with the black dot) in the lineup - I assume this is for southern US reservoirs where shad are abundant, not for northern lakes. This lure is great for casting or trolling in 10-20' of water for walleyes and smallmouth bass.
I always said if I was lost and had to survive and could only have one lure, I would want that to be the original floating Rapala. But that was before I tried the jointed shad rap. This lure really works.
Have caught numerous walleye over the years on these baits. I find they work best for trolling, as they are a little light for casting any distance.
