Rapala Original Jointed Minnow
Details
Rapala Original Jointed Minnows get the undivided attention of otherwise disinterested gamefish with a slight exaggeration of the unique Rapala baitfish-in-distress swimming action. This articulated, or broken-back bait, can be fished top-to-bottom. Swimming action at the slowest of speeds makes this bait the perfect choice after a cold front when fish are traditionally finicky and in a negative feeding mood.
- Classic minnow profile
- Broken back design
- Balsa body construction
- Premium VMC black nickel hooks
- Hand-tuned and tank-tested

Good Old Stand-By

Can't go wrong with this lure. Great wounded fish action. Nice assortment of colors to choose from.
Want to catch walleyes? Troll with these.
by NYFishNHunt
These jointed rapalas are one of the most consistent producers for walleyes I've ever used. Great action. Easy to work with. Can easily be re-tuned if they stop running true. Decent selection of colors as well. I usually use either the #7 or #9 size, but most of the time it's the #7. I use them with downriggers and traditional lead-core line setups, and it works great for both applications. Best colors for me have been: Gold, Blue, Yellow Perch. In that order. The only thing I do with these is switch out the stock vmc hooks for some gamakatsus, and I add a split-ring since I'm usually using swivels when trolling so I can change on the fly. The split-ring improves the action any time I'm using a swivel and not tying direct to the lure. Not that the VMC are bad hooks or anything, they're some of the best stock treble hooks you'll find on mass produced hard baits....I just prefer some other brands like Gamakatsu, Owner or Mustad.
A Classic.

Definitely one of the all-time classic fishing lures. The jointed Rapala takes the amazing action of the original floater up a notch. Steady retrieve, twitch, stop 'n go, any way you do it you'll catch fish. Smallmouth bass, walleye and pike love these lures. Highly recommended for any fisherman's arsenal.

Nearly perfect for Predators
by Peodro -
Trolled shallow, (-12ft) in clear water over weeds in early spring, these are deadly for Macks, Rainbow, and Smallies, because they float up out of weeds when stopped, but still have a teasing action. I just wish they came with a snap ring in the nose,(widens the wobble) and a version with no front hook would be nice, as I release most of my fish anyway, and don't like them injured, if possible.

Gold Fluorescent Red a surprise favorite for Lake Superior Coho Salmon
by Up North Doug
As an experiment, I tired a Gold Fluorescent Red jointed Rapala with flasher and magnum tad pole sinker trolling @ 2mph as an experiment for Coho Salmon. I got immediate results. As a result I ordered more of each item from Fishusa.com!
Great for late summer pike
by KSfishnhunt
Just got back from a week of early September pike fishing in Ontario. Best lures I had were the silver or firetiger J13. We caught dozens of large pike on them, 4 of them over 40 inches. Great to reel slowly over submerged weed beds. The wobble action was great at slow speeds.
Try using as a surface lure
by Brian
I like to hold the rod tip up high and reel it very slow.....so slow it doesn't dive, yet instead becomes a surface lure which leaves a V on the water surface.
