angler needs to pay more attention to rod and reel specifics than with mono. Once you learn what works with braid then it is a far better line than mono IMO....casting distance is significantly improved. Sensitivity to bites is incredible. Spool will hold quite a bit more line than with mono, I fish inshore a lot around the space center in eastern central Florida and only respool yearly. I fish about 150-200 days per year (I'm retired). I'v caught many 30+ pound redish on a 260 penn slammer reel spooled with 15# powerpro with no problems. (great fun on light tackle)

To anyone considering this line, read carefully. I have Sufix 832 with stated thickness of 0.11"/0.22 mm that is rated at 30lb test and "8lb mono equivalent". I wanted something thinner so I figured I'll try the Power Pro 20 lb test that is supposed to be 6lb mono equivalent. Power Pro does not state the actual thickness on the box. Well, I got the product and I immediately noticed that this line is much thicker than my 30lb test Suffix. Side to side comparison confirmed my fears. I would say, it's at least 50% thicker! To make sure that I did not get a 30lb or 50lb test in a 20lb test packet, I went to a local store that carries Power Pro and examined another 20lb test PP box. Same thing. It turns out that this US made line is measured with Chinese made calipers at the the factory. Luckily, I did not buy the $130 bulk. Had similar experience with the cheap Chinese Kast King SS.

There is either a problem with the braid/mono conversion numbers or the line capacity on spools i have filled from various reel manufactures is incorrect. Example: my power pro purchase of 30 pound braid says on the box. 8 lb mono equivalent diameter.. so if i have a reel spool that says capacity 8lb/160, shouldn't a 150 yard spool of power pro fit on that spool almost perfect.. well surprise.. thst spool holds only about 90 yards. Now i have a 60 yard useless remnant and way less line on my reel than i really wanted. Had the same experience with 10 lb power pro braid saying something like 6 lb mono equivalent. Spool saying 140 yard 6 lb capacity yet holding only 75 yards of the power pro. Are the reel manufacturers out in left field here or is someone exagerating the true mono equivalent diameter of their line. It's very irritating to have such a large percentage of line purchased being in useless remnants and far less line on my spools than i bought the line for in the
