Good rod for the price but has a couple of criticisms
A very nice rod although I haven't fished with it yet for perch, bass, crappie, or sunfish. The only 2 criticisms I have with this rod is the 2nd guide from the tip (not including the tip guide) does not line up with the two guides fore and aft. It extends off the blank too much, so I simply bent the guide upwards against the blank to line up the rings. A guide with a shorter offset should have been used. The 2nd criticism I have is the guides rings aren't ceramic, aluminum oxide, alconite, etc., but polished stainless steel. This means that braided line will eventually wear through the tip guide ring as it is the guide that takes the most pressure from the fishing line, and usually in one spot. Fortunately, I have replacement tips with ceramic rings, it should have come with braid-ready rings on all the guides. I'm an amateur rod builder, so this rod will probably turn into a project rod in the future with all these guides being replaced with braid-ready ones.
If you love ultra light this is your rod.
5.6 1 piece. Fantastic rod, finally an ultra light with some backbone.
Fast shipping, great price.
Well worth it
I got the 5'6 one piece version. Took it out today for the first time and yeah, its a good rod. Paired with a 1000 size reel I was easily slinging 3/32 jig heads. I only caught small fish today (small bass, cichlids, blue gill) but the rod worked as expected. I will say my only "issue" is that the guides are not aligned perfectly straight on mine. If I paid $100 for it, I would have sent it back. But for the price, it's not a deal breaker. The rod was delivered well packed in a hard cardboard tube
Lightweight addition to your panfish lineup
by Squirrel Daddy Cane
Bought 5’6” rod on recommendation from the online outdoorsman on YouTube. It’s a great lightweight addition to the arsenal. Casts a 1/8oz beetle spin for me 22-25 yards with 6lb trilene xl. The cork handles are comfortable for extended fishing. Lightweight and paired with a Daiwa Exceler 1000 it makes a great panfish combo. I’ll have to put it in rougher conditions to see how durable it is.
I bought this in the 5'6" model, I was wondering how good of a rod it could be for 40 bucks, I can honestly say I was very impressed with it, great build quality, very sensitive rod, I put a Daiwa Revros LT1000 on it and this is a great budget friendly ultra lite combo, I've caught a bunch of fish with it so far, it's turning into one of my favorite rods.
