The Okuma StormRunner Line Counter Trolling Reel is a FishUSA exclusive Okuma star drag reel with quality and durability that's second to none! This Okuma line counter fishing reel features Alumalite construction for strength and lightweight corrosion protection to go with exact tolerances between moving parts for a smooth and fluid motion. Okuma's Speed LOC pinion gear system (SLG) is another technological advancement found on StormRunner Line Counter Reels. The specialized dual-step pinion gear system instantly engages for positive hook sets at speeds greater than 50 mph.


The model STR-30D StormRunner Star Drag Levelwind Trolling Reel relies upon 2+1 bearings and a 4.0:1 gear ratio to attain a 26.4 inch line retrieval rate per turn of the power knobbed handle. Its multi-disc Carbonite drag system provides a wide and smooth drag range of up to 15 lbs. of max drag.     At first I wasn't impressed with this reel and still feel it's a cheaper version of the 303ds cold water and at times reeling in it is a little clunky? But I hooked a nice brown last week and at the boat it went nuts and the drag handled it very well I must say.cold water high speed which i have much better but this reel is worth getting if you want to save a couple bucks and Fishusa is the place to get it. Tony

    Awesome reel so far, purchased 10 or them and I run them on downriggers, braid dipsey and wire dipsey setups. The drags are very smooth and can be easily adjusted compared to the convector and cold waters that I also have. I hope they offer larger sizes soon and I will be buying them to replace all my cold water reels. Also the power handle knob is very comfortable!

    I love this upgraded reel, I run 3 colors of leadcore on it for salmon/trout fishing in a trolling application on Lake Michigan. A nice drag, easy to reel in fish and a fast retrieve speed. I hope Okuma/Fish USA offer this in other sizes to accommodate longer lead cores/weighted steel/copper.
