This spinning rod is constructed of a 24-ton and moderate-tapered carbon blank that is extremely lightweight and responsive. For improved balance, it utilizes tip-over-butt ferrule connection. Its Sea Guide stainless steel guides with Zirconium inserts stand up to all challenges and minimizes line abrasions. Outfitted with a tapered shrink tube grip, you can expect a non-slip surface on wet days. The Rockaway Surf Spinning Rod is light enough for surf anglers to cast all day.

    I just spent three days surf casting for stripers with the Okuma Rockaway 12' 3/4 to 3 oz. surf rod paired up with an older Penn Z bearing reel with 30lb. braided. I was mostly chucking 2.5 oz. poppers and this rod sends them sailing out there just fine. Also tossed out some bait and a 3 oz. lead, no problem. Caught some stripers and a 37" dog fish and the rod never felt weak and I could feel every move the fish were making. It just has a good feel to it! Yes, I would buy another, you can't go wrong with the price. Fish on....
