Reinforced with SeaGuide XQH series stainless steel guides, this rod is durable and reliable, perfect for the rough conditions of surf fishing.     Downgrading from a St.Croix Seage was going to be hard but glad I found this surf rod because it's just as light and strong like the Seage. Took it to the inlet here in NC and it performed well as any other more expensive surf rods would have. Paired with a Shimano Spheros 6000 SW. Launches 2 oz spoons, modified spooks with no problem, haven't gone over that but I'm sure it will hold. This rod will be used for Cape Code Canal trip in the future. Good luck all!

    I purchased the 11ft version to fish primarily from the beach but it also does exceptional at keeping the line off the rocks when fishing from a jetty, rocks and cliffs. I was worried at first that it wouldnt be as sensitive since its such a heavy rod but the construction of the Rockaway and the HD version translates perfectly, it really is different from other saltwater rods. Ive used the regular Rockaway in the past and got the HD for throwing bigger weighted lures and baits. Highly recommend both and FishUSA delivered a day earlier than projected for shipping across the country (2 days) Overall awesome experience!

    Horrible Quality

    I took this rod to hatteras and was throwing a 2 ounce lure and it broke on the 4th cast. This was the first time I had used the rod since I came out the box.
