Okuma Trolling Rod Review By Kevin

I fish for Walleye on Erie, and Trout/Salmon on Ontario. I need a rod that can serve double duty for both, and the Okuma products does so perfectly. In addition to diversity, value is second to none.
Good product great price!

this will be used for trolling for lake fishing and possibly on the downrigger. Eyes seem durable and decent flex to the rod. The only thing is that although it has okay flex it could be better. But overall seems like a great rod.
Big bang for the buck

Great tip action, still with alot of backbone for landing big fish. I like it so much I own four now with no complaints.
Good Great Lakes in-line planer bd rods
by No-Fish Nick -
The 8'6" rods are perfect for trolling in-line planer boards for salmon. They have enough backbone to fight big fish and they pull planer boards with ease when using heavy lines like Copper and Leadcore. Plus the line guides have lg diameter holes so the knots will make it through without hanging up. I'm very pleased with these rods for Great Lakes Salmon fishing.

Catfish drifting rod
by FlatCattin -
Was looking for a good drifting rod that i could get away from the boat. This rod delivered exactly what I wanted at a great price.

Use mostly trolling for walleye and salmonids. Good for handling drag from 8-10 color lead and planer boards. All metal eyes minimize chafing of lead core sheath and subsequent breakage.

For the money, I don't think you will find a better rod for copper/lead core fishing.

Nice Rod for the $$$

Very nice rod for the money. I purchased a couple for spares. The action is a bit stiff for a medium light rated rod.
Great rod for the money

You can't beat the rod for the price. It has a very nice backbone and great tip action. The rod is a little on the heavy side. It also has many line guides to keep the line off the rod.
best for the $$
by Salmon Whisperer
Glass is more durable than graphite, this rod has a really good feel to it and lots of spring for good hook-set. I like the styling, dunno how Okuma does it at this price but Im a happy camper! Lots of guides keep the line off the blanks, a plusHighly recommended!!

Have not been able to use these rods yet , but if they perform as well as they look my down rigged are going to be busy! On a side note the packaging could be beefed up for rod delivery because the post office looked like they did their best to break them, though they did come out unscathed.
Nice Rod !!!!

Great Buy !!!
Worth the $$$

Tony Maja has his trolling pole listed at $200. This one was under $30. Well worth the price. Good quality. Nice tip action. Caught a baby blue fish with the Big Jon set up. Every thing worked the way it supposed to. Come on 30lb bass.
durable and good for trolling truite

Difficult to have a better price, good for trolling with precision
by Carpman -
I was looking for a longer rod to enable long casting with a small float. The rod behaves beautifully and is accurate. Handles large fish well for a lightweight rod.
10'6 Diver Rods
by salmon slayer -
Excellent, gets your diver as far away from your riggers as possible. Or if you run 4 divers these are good rods for separation between high and low divers. Just add a twilli tip if you use wire.
Great Downrigger Rod!!!
by Dennis -
I bought one of these to replace a broken rod and liked it so much I ended replacing all my rods with them. The triangular grip feels great, the silicon wrap on the bottom handle lets me pull the rod out of the holder even when it's loaded with a big fish. It takes a great bend when running with tension on the downrigger but still has enough power to handle big kings. My wife is gonna kill me but I'm probably going to get a few more.
GOOD POLE HAVE A BUNCH OF THEM
