Shallow water monster slayer

by Big E -

I will use nothing else for shallow water Pike, if you find the right spot, you will land just about every cast. A good day with Mepps equals you being tired of taking fish off the hook all day, not allowing for a lunch break.

I have been using MEPPS AGLIA #3 for 50 years and I needed a supply for a planned excursion into no man's land.. or God's Country to some of us.[...]

Big brown trout in small streams

by Browntrout Jim -

This spinner kicks in imediately after hitting the water ,this is great for small Pa. streams where the 20 inch brown trout hide which I pursue.

The Go To Spinner

by Gordy -

I use Mepps in size 00-4 mostly 2's and 3's. I've found the basics work well Silver, Gold and Copper and red and white with silver or gold. If you cant catch it on a Mepps it probably cant be caught! I tie them directly on the line for a better presentation then add a swivel when I get too much line twist.

Mepps Aglia Spinner

by Wild Bill -

The #4 Mepps spinner is an excellent choice for catching Texas white bass. If you work it slow and deep, it will make you happy that you are using it.

The Spinner

by Quickdraw -

I have fished primarily for bass all my life (62) and have tried every inline spinner out there at one time or another in all sizes and always come back to Mepps. I have had the best results with a #2 undressed with a 2" twister tail in white. Ponds, small lakes or big lakes, it always finds them. I do have a bad habit of fishing them where you should probobly use weedless hooks but it's worth loosing one every now and then. Good Fishing to all !!

good lure to have in one's arsenal

by bigsmallie -

prices for Mepps spinners at FISH USA are great. I like to have a good variety of them on hand and it is one of the best all-purpose lures available.

Alaska for Silver Salmon

by Bullfrog bob -

Used them in the past will use in the Kenai this summer. Larger blue fox spinners have the single hook you sometimes need due to goofy Alaska regulations.

Great fro white bass!

by Ross -

Cast it out, let fall to bottom, crank reel a few times, let fall back to bottom... Do this all the way back to the boat. Deadly on white and hybrids.

good lure to have in your arsenal

by bigsmallie -

There are certain times when the hot firetiger Mepps is what the bass will hit when they won't other things. It is not my first choice, but if they're not hitting other things, there are times this is all that works.

Works great, hooks a bit large

by flyman4 -

Wel made but compared to similar spinners these Mepps hooks are a tad bit larger and hook set tougher
