The Kingpin R2 Centerpin Reel in the R2-500 and RD2-550 sizes replace the R2-525/R2-475 made in England float reels that have stood the test of time – and Kingpin promises this next generation will continue the legacy. The engineering of the RD2-550 and RD-500 Float Reel builds upon the original Gold series Royalty Reel, and its popular looks benefit from state-of-the-art technology manufacturing processes. The result is a traditional design comfortable in hand and on the palming rim, furthering its reputation as a smooth, solid reel with highly sensitive start-up features. The 5" and 5 1/2" diameters allow faster retrieves on long drifts compared to a smaller diameter reel.
All backplates on Kingpin centerpin float reels are hard anodized to a defense-grade standard (Def Stan 03-26), and the vibrant colored spools are Type II anodized. Additionally, all RD-500 Centerpins include the crown screw and tool as standard items. With refined craftsmanship, traditional design, and a performance worthy of its predecessor, the RD-500 Kingpin R2 Centerpin Reel carries the series forward.
