    For years I've been searching for the perfect carry system for my fishing gear. Of course I've had vests, but in cold weather its very constricting to wear a vest over heavier clothing. In summer vests can be hot and uncomfortable. Sling packs drove me nuts with all the straps and angles of compartments. Butt or waist packs never seemed to have the capacity for all my gear. Then I found the Fishpond Lodgepole Fishing Satchel. Its not overdone with compartments and sub-compartments - just enough for separation of groups of gear. It holds plenty for a day trip: fly boxes, leader wheels, odds and ends, even room for a sandwich and water bottle. The weight is distributed well, and the extra-wide should strap is very comfortable. Best of all, when fishing you can just flip it over the back of your hip, and when you need something, just swing it forward to access what you need easily. The pack is very sturdy, great material and construction. I may never wear a vest again!
