The Dobyns Sierra Trout and Panfish Spinning Rod series tackles, with fast light and ultra-light rods in one and two-piece models, all the possible places trout fishing lives.     I purchased the 6'7" UL 1 piece rod and found this rod to be a little disappointing. The rod is really thin at the tip, but it quickly tapers into a much more stout rod by the middle of the shaft. My main issue is with casting. Because it is so thick in the middle, the rod doesn't load up properly to throw a 1/32oz jig very far. It doesn't feel like an UL, except when you hook into a fish. It is a well built rod and very sensitive, I just wish it loaded better to cast out the really light tackle. I found my TFO trout and panfish II (I have the 6ft and 7ft models) to be proper amount of flex and give to cast small jigs far and fight fish. On the other end is the Daiwa Presso, which to me feels like a wet noodle and I don't recommend. ( I have the 5ft and 7ft models)

    Plenty sensitive to feel light bites, but has enough of a backbone where you can horse out larger ones if necessary.

    This is a very sensitive rod, I love this rod for Cappie fishing. Combined with a 1000 size real and 4lb test line. An excellent setup.
