    These are excellent crappie rods. They are very limber and sensitive. I prefer the handles on the older models slightly better than the current design. They can be fragile since the diameter of the rod is very small but that is what makes them so flexible. I currently have 9 of them, 7 of the new design and 2 of the old design. They are the only type of rod I use for crappie fishing.

    I bought this rod last year primarily for ultra light bass and pike fishing with 4lb test paired with an older shimano mlz10 reel. Rod construction is good with no noticeable blems in guide alignment, wraps, cork or finish. The rod is defiantly a fast action up top with a lot of power in the butt section. I'm not using the rod to pull fish out of lilly pads and bullrush, they have plenty of room to run, in which this rod works very well. It casts a weightless 4" rubber worms, micro crank baits and small jigs just fine. The really stiff butt section makes hook sets easy. I'll give it 5 stars but feel it should be labeled as an ultra-fast medium light rod.
