Its direct-drive line counter tracks deployed line, making it easier to duplicate productive passes with crankbaits, spoons, lead core, and other trolling setups across lakes, reservoirs, and inshore waterways. Eight available models give freshwater and saltwater anglers options for matching reel size, retrieve speed, and line capacity to their target species and fishing approach.
Three ball bearings support smooth, durable operation, while helical-cut gears transfer steady cranking power under load. Most models feature a 4.2:1 gear ratio, with 5.1:1 and 6.1:1 options offering faster line recovery. The Ultimate Tournament Carbon Drag reduces startup resistance and maintains consistent pressure when a fish surges beside the boat. A one-piece composite frame supports the machined aluminum spool, which holds monofilament capacities from 10-pound test at 290 yards to 20-pound test at 580 yards. Daiwa J-Braid capacities range from 30-pound test at 270 yards to 50-pound test at 650 yards, depending on the selected model.

Had one break after 1 season but they are now made in china so what would one expect?

Recently received product. Haven’t had opportunity to use yet, but it was real easy to spool up. Feels real good and looks extra nice. Can’t wait to use it, probably be next May for walleye.

These reels can handle just about anything. I purchased mine for musky trolling. They are durable, have a nice loud clicker, and have a butter smooth drag.
