Daiwa BG Spinning Reels offer dependable performance for both freshwater and saltwater anglers, featuring a Hard Bodyz aluminum body and side cover that adds strength without extra weight.     These reels are nothing short of awesome. Easily equal performance compared to an $800 Shimano Stella I recently purchased. Won't make that mistake again. Best reel on the market, hands down.

    Bought for surf fishing northern California. Spooled with 14 # nanofil, my go to for smooth sand beaches. Good directions, removed one of the washers to tweak spooling. Caught fish on it, so no complaints there. Rinsed off in the sink afterwards, applied a little reel oil to line roller and bail hinges, as per instructions. Smooth. Looking forward to seeing how this reel does over time.
