I let it drop about 4 to 5 feet than jerk an retrieve about 6 to 7 feet than let drop and start my jerk and drop catch most when the cp drops about a foot. It is very good around docks and brush. but best over weed beds about 7 foot under water.

As with several anglers' previous reviews here, I have used the C.P. Swing for several decades. It is a go-to trout lure for me when conditions are right; in particular, when the water has some color/stain to it due to recent rain and on dreary rainy days. Even though I pretty much exclusively use it in Missouri Ozark creek/stream/river fisheries for trout, I have caught both largemouth & smallmouth bass, goggle eye, bluegill/bream/sunfish, walleye and channel catfish, WHILE pursuing trout.
