Trolling bag use on Lake Erie Walleye

by John Z

Heavy weight materials, construction, stitching, straps. Very pleased , helps slow troll for large fishing boat down to 1.5 MPH using two bags in 2 foot following seas Much more cost effective than purchase/installation of kicker motor.

nothing special

by Walleye guy

The stitching at the top of the bag came apart after the second use. This brand came highly recommended, but doesn't do anything my minn kota bag doesn't do. Save your money.

This will be my 3rd season using the bags to slow down trolling. They work for me.

Product didnt last me the season and the size recommended for my boat didnt slow me down enough, so make sure you get a large enough bag for your boat size. The stitching needs better thread, or a better design. It works ok for most part i wouldnt recommend or not recommend. I should have done my homework better.

Sturdy functional bag

by Erie Guy

I've used two of these bags heavily for a season and they have held up well. I don't believe that boat size is particularly relevant to the size of the bag. The engine size, and drive efficiency has much more to do with the size bag required. My 24 ft boat without the bags had a minimum speed of just over 4 MPH. With 1 24ft size bag on each side of the boat, I have a minimum speed of 2.5 MPH. Not quite as slow as I would like. If in doubt go larger.

Got the 18”. Drops my speed down nicely for trolling for walleyes. Gets my speed down at idle to 1.9 mph. I’ll troll 2.5 - 3 or so generally. I did add a trip line from the base to the top bridle webbing to dump water quicker on retrieval
