Blackbird by Redwing Tackle Phantom Floats
The Blackbird Phantom Floats are made in Canada by Redwing Tackle and are very popular for trout, steelhead, and salmon fishing. The models with the clear bottoms make them nearly invisible from below in the water. The Blackbird Phantom Floats also work well when fishing for crappie or panfish in clearer/shallower water. The models with the black bottoms add a little more contrast making them easier to see when fishing deeper/darker waters. These floats can easily be used for slip float style fishing, are constructed using 1 solid piece of plastic, and are very durable.
- Includes silicon tubing to hold the line in place on the top and bottom of the float
- Qty. per Pack: 2
Note: The Black floats come with a slit in the bottom section to put the line through. The Clear floats do not.

Durable Basic Floats

These floats don't crack easily or fill with water in cold temps like some other brands.
Best floats all around
Been using these floats for about 4 to 5 years. Fish them for trout, lake runs and bass. All around hard float to beat for clear or off colored water. Provide excellent float and drag free drift presentation. Make sure to carry different sizes for different water flows.
Great for sensitive fishing.

Great for steelhead fishing when fish are very shy. Very little resistance for the fish to pull down.

Very easy to setup and use. Easily adjustable.

I tried to order the pencil shaped balsa version and was told they were discontinued, so I ordered these plastic ones instead. I prefer these to Sheffield because those tend to crack and fill with water in sub-freezing conditions. These work fine all winter.

Great steelhead floats....optimum visibility and sensitivity
Inaccurate weight ratings...
by BuckyBlade -
Great floats, very visible, sturdy and hard to break. I use these for trout and steelhead centerpin fishing. The only problem I have with these is the float gram rating and the actual weight used to properly set the float are different. I use a digital scale to weigh all components below the float before shotting my line, and I always have to remove some of the shot to get them to float right. A 7g float sits about right with 5.85g of total terminal tackle (fly, shot, swivel).
the best i've ever used
