Great baits

by Don't hav one -

Works better than live minnows! I've caught more fish with these baits than I can count. Blue gills, white perch, crappy, bass, catfish and more. With a 1/64 or a 1/80 micro jig head they can't be beat.

Closest thing to bait

by Spot -

Used for ice fishing. When the jig & wax-worm bite slowed down I would switch to a jig & gulp minnow to get the bite started again. Sometimes would catch larger crappie on gulp. Very durable without the concerns of having to take care of live bait. I still prefer live bait but gulp is a must have when I go ice fishing. More luck with minnow type colors. Also have caught bass & channel cat on the gulp minnow.

Best Crappie Bait Ever

by alucard bear -

Got this a couple day ago, used it on my local lake. I tell you one thing it catches crappie like no one's business. Just need a good float and a small 1/32 or 1/16 jig head.

This Bait Is Incredible

by Mr. Gill -

I have been using the 1" minnow for about 3 years now. The crappie & big gills just eat this thing up. Have been using natural colors and decided to try the chartreuse shad this year. Wow. They seem to like it better than the others, particularly in stained water. It gets chewed up pretty good but I can usually get a dozen fish off one bait.

Gulp Alive

by Troutbum21 -

I use the emerald shiners with a Mepps Aglia or Blue Fox spinner for early season trout.

Good thing to put on a jig head - lots of fish attracting scent!

by iljFISH -

This is one of the two kinds of Berkeley soft minnow bait type, the other is the PowerBait minnow. The Gulp minnow has a lower soft plastic content, is wetter and is made up of more ground up fishy organic matter rich in scent - these shouldn't be put on hooks in advance as their salty juice will rust out hooks and generally stink up your tackle box, and they dry up and shrivel unless submerged in the Gulp juice. The PowerBait minnow has a higher soft plastic content , is dryer and the scent is internal - these can be put on your hooks in advance. Both (Gulp and PowerBait) are excellent, Gulp being used more like live bait. The fish attracting quality of Gulp is outstanding - very close to having a live or dead minnow on your presentation. I do wish they would improve the seals on the containers as they leak and stink up everything unless double bagged. Nevertheless, excellent for both ice fishing and open water.

Trout Destroyer

by troutmister

Great for all of the above fish listed. I have caught trout over 4lbs with these and also walleye over 6lbs.If you don't catch fish with these you need to find another recreational sport. Use 2 1/2 in. Black Shad and Smelt for best results. In streams cast up and across the stream using small twitches while reeling in just off the bottom and keep your tip high. Guaranteed results early in the season, April thru May. In lakes use around rock beds and jetties using variable jerks and slow retrieves. Good luck.

I am impressed

by RHW

After using and watching my fishing partner use the one inch Gulp Alive pearl watermelon minnow, I am impressed. Crappies and Bluegills ate them like cotton candy. Eager to try them ice fishing. Probably will use a 1/64 oz head.

Use with a #6 or #8 light wire hook (Mustad 37361 works well) Looking forward using them for ice fishing. Great product!

I would by this product again.

by Roger the Fisherman -

Caught 6.5 lb channel cat and several 2 to 3 lb black bass and a lot of slab crappies on this and I will purchase bigger size next time I order, so I can catch bigger fish. Great product and cheaper than buying live bait.

Spice up your jigs

by John the fishaholic -

Nice size for tipping lures, especially when panfishing, giving extra scent and visual appeal for possibly picky biters.

Crappie Catchers!

A friend bought these in smelt color and did well with them catching perch through the ice. Come ice out he was catching crappie with them on an ice fishing jig under a stick bobber. I tried them hand had similar success. I fished them the same way for crappie and sometimes added a spike for a bit of extra attraction. We had great crappie fishing with them and also caught plenty of perch and big blue gills. What I like most about them is that fish eat them and they stay on the hook much longer than any live bait. The down side is that they harden on the hook when they dry. Take them off as soon as your done fishing or you will have trouble removing them later.I like this color so much I'm trying it in the 3 inch for larger game fish.

an improvement from original Gulp

by Shane -

works Well on a dropshot rig for finicky winter panfish. i have noticed that even though product is suspended in juice, some of the baits have kinks and don't hang straight much like bagged soft baits.

Black Crappie Bait

by Mike -

This is one of the best Black Crappie baits I've ever used. I've only used it ice fishing (jigging). But I will definely be trying it this spring. Put it on a 1/32 or 1/16 oz jig head. I usually start off light and work up. Most of the time they hit it on the fall. To recharge leave it on the jig head and put it back in the bottle. I usually have 3 or 4 soaking in the bottle to switch with. One draw back is the smell on your hands and sometimes the bottle leaks.
