Product Details

Dial in your trolling spread and spot light-biting fish with Amish Outfitters Trolling Rubber Bands, a simple but effective addition for planer board and release setups targeting walleye, salmon, steelhead, trout, and other open-water game fish. These trolling rubber bands act as shock absorbers between your line and release, then break cleanly when a fish strikes so you can fight the fish without added resistance. Their controlled release lets anglers fish lighter tackle with confidence while making subtle bites easier to detect, helping improve hook-up opportunities during finesse trolling presentations.

  • Ideal for use with planer boards and line release systems
  • Act as shock absorbers to cushion the line during trolling
  • Break cleanly when a fish strikes for an unrestricted fight
  • Help anglers use lighter tackle and detect smaller, less aggressive bites
  • Available in two sizes
    • Size: Light #14 - Color: Red
    • Size: Medium #10 - Color: Light brown

I gave it a 3, the better would be a 2.5. The bag of bands I received this year has 2 different size bands in it. About half are cut shorter than the other, meaning the bands are smaller. They are the same diameter, the shorter cut gives a smaller cross section and a lesser breaking point. It is not too difficult to sort through and pick out what I want, shouldn't have to do it though. Next year I will go back to John King for bands.

I purchased the red rubber bands for use with my Amish Planer boards. I am running stick baits for steel head trout in Lake Erie. These bands are way too strong. Ive had 5 pound trout jumping behind the boat, and yet these dont break. Walleye wont ever break them.
