The Avet MXL MC G2 Lever Drag Conventional Reel gives saltwater and Great Lakes anglers a wider-spool conventional reel with smooth drag control, casting performance, and corrosion resistance for live bait fishing, trolling, jigging, casting plugs, and bottom fishing for striped bass, salmon, lake trout, tuna, mahi, grouper, snapper, and other hard-fighting fish. Available in left- or right-hand retrieve with or without Glide Plate, the MXL MC G2 pairs precision-machined 6061 T-6 marine-grade aluminum with stainless steel components, precision-machined stainless steel gears, and an anodized finish that holds up around spray, salt, and long days on the boat.

Its re-designed true one-piece frame improves strength-to-weight performance, while the powerful lever drag system with adjustable strike pre-set gives anglers repeatable drag control during the fight. Reliable Avedrag dry carbon fiber drags provide smooth stopping power and wear resistance, and Magic Cast uses an adjustable magnetic anti-backlash cast control system based on Lenz Law to help prevent line overrun and birds nests while casting live bait rigs, irons, and plugs. Avet’s patented silent dog and gear anti-reverse system uses more engagement teeth to reduce handle back-play, while the re-designed loud alarm clicker, offset machined handle arm, large soft-touch handle knob, and 8 ball bearings round out a dependable reel for rod holders, rail work, and hands-on presentations.
