Orvis Battenkill Disc Reel blends classic Battenkill heritage with modern control when trout, bass, and light saltwater species test tippets on long runs. Tighter internal tolerances deliver smoother operation and a refined hand feel at the drag knob, while the curved reelfoot protects leaders during storage and transport. The stout Hydros SL disc drag uses six interacting carbon and stainless surfaces to provide consistent pressure that adjusts easily as fish surge. A mid-arbor, ported spool nods to Battenkill tradition, and the 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum frame with ergonomic Delrin handle balances cleanly on Superfine, Classic Bamboo, Helios, and Recon rods.
