When a hard-running salmon loads up a copper or wire-line trolling setup, the Okuma Solterra SLX B Lever Drag Reel gives anglers the strength and control to keep steady pressure on the fish. The Solterra SLX-50LB pairs a powerful 3.1:1 gear ratio with a multi-disc Carbonite drag system treated with Cal’s Universal Drag Grease for smooth, dependable stopping power. Its ratcheting drag lever supports precise adjustments while trolling open water or dropping baits for deepwater grouper. A double-dog silent anti-reverse keeps the handle secure when trophy fish surge, making this conventional lever drag reel a capable choice for salmon, grouper, and fast-running pelagic species.

Stainless steel main gears, pinion gears, and spool shafts support long-term performance in harsh saltwater conditions. Five shielded stainless steel ball bearings and two thrust bearings maintain smooth operation, while the thrust bearings reduce handle-turning force by more than 50 percent during demanding fights. A corrosion-resistant frame, stainless steel reinforcing rings, and Stainless Steel Body Armor reduce frame flex under heavy loads. The forged aluminum spool includes line indicator rings for monitoring capacity, while the T-Bar handle adds leverage and comfort. A low-profile on-and-off clicker with a stainless steel wishbone provides a clear strike alert during trolling or bait deployment. The broader Solterra SLX B family includes high-speed single-speed and powerful two-speed options for varied offshore and freshwater applications.
