Cortland Micron Fly Line Backing earns its place on serious fly reels when long runs and sustained pressure come into play, from hot steelhead tearing downstream to bonefish and salmon testing drag systems to the limit. This premium backing uses a round, tightly braided construction with a smooth, low-friction finish that feeds cleanly off the reel and lays evenly under load. A low stretch factor helps manage pressure during hard runs, while the extremely small diameter packs more yardage onto the spool without sacrificing strength. Manufactured from premium Dacron fibers, Micron delivers consistent handling and confidence when backing actually matters.
