Been using STS fluoro for five plus years. The best leader for trout and now bass for me. Mainly use the 6 lb and 8 lb for large river brown and rainbow trout and 6 lb for still water nymphing. I use 15 lb down to 6 or 8 lb to make my own tapered leaders. I've never had a breaking problem catching fish after fish without retying. Smaller in diameter than other leader and strong. I even started using it bass fishing and believe it's softness gives better drop shot action without giving up strength.

I use LOTS of leader material on my boat. I ran out of my choice leader and nobody carriers it locally, so I figured I would give this a go. I per-tie everything, so clients spend more time in the water. Do not know if it was old and been sitting on the rack or just bad, but lost more fish (break off's) and rigs in one day than the entire season so far. Found a old spool of 5lb , another brand, in the boat and switched everything over and problem solved. Needless to say it will not be in my boat ever again.

Thought it was a great deal at 10.99 for 100 yards. .....until I found that I have to retie after every fish and burn through a lot of spools of this Leader. Went back to my previous higher end 50 yard leader and only retie after 20 fish...sometimes 30. Saves more money in the long run using a better quality leader imo

I would not recommend for its marketed use. Better products out there. Blue and red label from seaguar, and definitely drennan.

I've been using the 10lb STS leader for about 6 months now. I've only lost one fish which was a "fresh from the salt" summer-run steelhead. It repeatedly made frantic runs deeply through boulder gardens fraying the leader. This rating is based on the fact that I went on to play/release many more steelhead, coho, and a 17lb brute chum salmon on it. It's all about the landing ratio vs performance for me. For the coastal fish that we fight, losing a few a year is expected. I use this leader with 10ft float rods floating jigs for steelhead mostly.
