This is a good float. Bright enough to see in early light and on long drifts. The weight listed is accurate. The stem is strong and standard diameter. Like all painted balsa floats I have used, the paint doesn't hold up great once it starts icing up and getting banged around. Easy solution is smearing caulk over cracks and splits.

Blood Run Floats for a stealthy presentation

These new Blood Run floats are a stealthy addition to your steelhead arsenal. Trout and salmon fishing is a game of paying attention to details and Blood Run has clearly done this here with their paint jobs. Trout and salmon anatomy places their eyes near the top of their heads. Simply put, these fish have keen upward sight. Blood Run's floats are painted either a primer gray, or a cloud camo on their under water parts. Compared to a black float which would contrast with a blue sky, or even overcast sky, these floats make for a stealth presentation. These floats are balanced and easy to counter-weight with split shot too!
