The Okuma GLS Custom Casting Rod gives salmon and steelhead anglers the responsive feel, controlled power, and cold-weather performance needed for drifting bait, pulling plugs, casting hardware, and working presentations through rivers, tributaries, and Great Lakes systems. Its technique-specific 30-ton carbon blank keeps the rod light and responsive, while Okuma’s UMR technology reduces excess weight and increases strength. SCT reinforcement adds a dual-helix wrap with more than 6,000 strands of carbon thread, helping the blank maintain stability and power when a king salmon surges downstream or a steelhead turns in heavy current.

Premium deep-pressed stainless steel Sea Guide frames provide dependable support, and oversized Zirconium inserts help reduce ice buildup during late fall and winter fishing. The spiral-wrapped guide configuration on casting models redirects line beneath the blank to improve stability under load. Fuji ACS or TVS reel seats, based on model, create a secure and sensitive reel connection, while specialized TPE and premium cork grip layouts provide comfort and control during long days on the water.
