The Lamiglas "The Closer" Centerpin Rod is designed to be a true float rod. This rod series offers the perfect taper and balance for anglers fishing for steelhead and salmon on the Great Lakes, Pacific Northwest, and Canadian waters. These super-responsive blanks were designed by Lamiglas and Rod Consultant, Roger Hinchcliff, to provide the best actions and a powerful bend, yet still protect light leaders.

"The Closer" Rods feature beautiful, polished graphite blanks with a fiberglass weave over the butt sections. The design distribute pressure throughout the blank for a forgiving but powerful backbone. Have a stout fish headed for the rapids? You can turn fast and furious fish easier than with traditional floppy Centerpin Rods. Have a fish coming out of the water fast with barbless hooks? These rods are not stiff and allow a fish to twist and turn.

Larger REC recoil guides on the top section help avoid icing, plus you'll find a brand-new REC double-ring recoil guide on the tip-top. The lower ceramic guides are sensitive, strong and lightweight. Recoils result in less tip weight and hold up well to bank, brush and boat use.

The carbon fiber weave handle is a new advantage in sensitivity. The materials used in this handle configuration are designed to maximize vibrations, while being highly durable. These handles clean off nicely from bait use (like egg skeins) and grip very well in wet or dry weather. You will notice that the CFX carbon fiber handle warms to your hand quickly, making it perfect for cold-weather angling. A sleek black butt cap let the rod balance expertly and protects it when set down on the bank or on a boat floor.

Let the Lamiglas "The Closer" rod amaze you and everyone else on the water with its top-of-the-line performance and style.

  • Perfectly balanced
  • Woven carbon fiber handle
  • Oversized black Recoil guides
  • Manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty

The Lamiglas "The Closer" Centerpin Rod is made in the U.S.A.

It’s nice (from prior model)
Pros: Lightweight, plenty of power
Cons: Wish they made a case for it
Best Uses: Float fishing
Comments: I fished for years with a three piece the two piece rod is great , it took some getting used to because most float rods are flimsy and limp with a little tip sag. This rod has no tip sag with a very solid back bone great for setting the hook on those long drifts , I did break my first closer it was a fluke and the guys at fish USA took care of me it’s a great rod yeah it’s expensive but it’s a high quality rod, ya know ya get what ya pay for.

Almost perfect   (from prior model)
Pros: Scary lite and well thought out design.
Cons: Grip material has a seam in the middle of the grip.
Best Uses: Float fishing.
Comments: The rod feels scary lite and looks nice. A padded rod sock was included. The action was not as stiff as I thought it would be. The woven looking grip material makes sliding the rings a little difficult but should assist in securing the reel. What is odd is the grip material has a seam in the middle of the grip. Field testing will show if this seam will not cause the material to loosen. Being the 10-17 pound line model it will be used for salmon. I will have it on the water for three weeks in October. I will posts a performance update after my trip.
