P-Line Hydrofloat Thermal Fused Spectra Line features a thermal fused coating. Although Hydrofloat line can be used for many applications and works well on both spinning and baitcasting reels, this specialty line was designed for float and centerpin fishing for salmon and steelhead. The fused coating of Hydrofloat makes this line more buoyant than traditional Spectra lines, allowing the angler to have a drag free drift by always being able to see and manage the line on the waters surface.

Unlike most Spectra lines that are very limp and tend to wrap around the rod tip, Hydrofloat has more body which helps to eliminate these problems. When making long drifts, anglers will appreciate the fact that this line has virtually no stretch, allowing you to have instantaneous positive hook sets. Hydrofloat also boasts a high strength to diameter ratio.

Bought 20lb P-LINE HYDROFLOAT for my Shimano Cardiff float setup. Went out for the first time last weekend and gave it a shot. 1st 10-12 casts were pretty bad birds nests (had Power Pro previous without issues) and had to cut 20-25yds off. I clicked another brake on my spool and continued to try it. As the day went on it did get better without birds nests. The line DOES float very nice and peels off the water great when mending. Also super visible, more so than the hi vis Power pro and doesn't seem to absorb water like PP either. Not 100% sold but I'll use it for the season and see what happens.

Super disappointing when this happens the first day of using it. For fixed float applications this is the best line you will find.

    Best Floating

Posted by Shooterman on November 21, 2020

Best floating line of the 6 brands I tried. Virtually no stretch and it stayed on the surface the entire day. The hi-Vis Yellow was always visible, even the rapid moving water. Will buy again.

Bought this for my centerpin. I am probably one of the few who hates it. just seemed stiff coming off the spool and it liked to stick onto other strands of line on my spool when casting. tried getting it broke in a few more times with no luck. 3/5 stars for centerpin reels, but 5/5 stars on spinning gear or baitcaster.
